I am not a food professional, but love food and experimenting different type from White Castles five in the morning while coming back from a long night at Atlantic City, to the tamarind, cauliflower, sea scallops at Jean George in New York. So here goes my first blog...

FAIRWAY UPSTAIRS FOR BRUNCH
Overall, one of best brunches on the upper west side. as good as sarah beth's. Have had at least a dozen visits to Fairway upstairs usually on the weekends with the kids.

Best Dishes: Scrambled eggs. (somehow the best scrabled eggs I have had.) Bacon. Whitefish Salad. Egg Salad. Salad Nicoise. Arugala and goat cheese salad. Fruit platter. Chicken vegetable soup. Was not crazy about their famous hamburger everyone talks about. I like my burgers seared so that they have a coating that keeps the juices inside. Patti is similar to Jackson Hole's which also, is cooked with not high enough flame and more like meatloaf. Drip coffee is terrible and what's worst is the esspresso drinks. One word: Watery. I wish that these places were required to have coffee license and you could bring your own if they didn't.

Atmosphere: Stuck to fairway itself... so it's noisy, but with an upper west side charm. Tables are very wabbly. Flatware is very good. chairs are not very comfortable. water is served in clear plastic cups. Bathrooms are clean.

Service: Probably the worst service in Manhattan. The waiters are practically rude with an attitude, but not a feel good no nonsense New York attitude. More like stupid and lazy. They don't make eye contact in fear that you may ask for something. Just today, my wife asked for a napkin and it was as if she'd asked for our waiter's first born. And god forbid if you make a special request. They say NO before you even finish your sentence. And they tend to bump into you while walking by your table. May be a sign of intimidation. The staff needs to be replaced yesterday!

Overall, I wish they delivered so that we wouldn't have to see the waitpeople.
